Swimming Lessons 

 

We offer lessons for people of all ages (ranging from 5 years to the elderly) and for people of ALL swimming capabilities. Whether you know how to swim and just want to strengthen your technique or you have a fear of water, we have specialized techniques that can help you achieve your goal. 

 

Class Options: 

·       Private Swim Class (1-2 people)

·       Semi- Private Swim Class (3-4 people)

·       Public Swim Class (5-10 people)

 

 

Lifeguard Certification

 

Lifeguarding certification is offered to people over the age of 15. The class will be taught using the American Red Cross curriculum. 

 

Class Options:

  • Basic Lifeguarding 

  • Aquatic Attraction Lifeguarding

    • for participants working at waterparks and/or water with maximum water depth of 3 feet or less

  • Shallow Water Lifeguarding 

  • Lifeguarding Review Course

    • designed to review the lifeguarding skills and core knowledge points required to recertify in lifeguarding and prerequisites are required

  • Optional Add-on Modules

    • Waterfront Skills Module and Waterpark Skills Module is offered, but a certification in a core course is required

Water Safety Instructor Certification

 

To become an American Red Cross certified water safety instructor, the participant must be at least 16 on or before the final scheduled lesson of this course. They also must be able to do the following:

 

    1.  Swim with proficiency the following strokes 

  • Front crawl-25 yards

  • Back crawl-25 yards

  • Breaststroke-25 yards

  • Elementary backstroke-25 yards

  • Sidestroke-25 yards

  • Butterfly-15 yards

 

     2.  Maintain a floating or sculling position on          back for 1 minute in deep water

 

     3.  Tread water for 1 minute

 

First Aid 

Basic First Aid Course 

 

This class is taught using the American Safety & Health Institute guidelines for certifying medical and non-medical professionals in First Aid. This class runs about 3- 4 hours and a written exam is given at the end class. After completing and passing the written exam. A certification card will be sent a few business days later.

CPR 

CPR/ Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for the Community and Workplace Course 

 

This class follows the American Safety & Health Institute for certifying non- medical professionals in adult, child, and infant CPR/AED. This class runs about 3- 4 hours and a written exam is given at the end of each class. After completing and passing the written exam. A certification card will be sent a few business days later. 

 

Class Options:

  • The Adult, Child, and Infant CPR/ AED Class

  • The Adult CPR/ AED Class

  • The Child and Infant CPR/ AED Class

 

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course 

* For Doctors, Nurses, and Healthcare Providers

 

This class follows the American Heart Association Guidelines. This course includes adult, child, and infant care. This class runs about 3- 4 hours and a written exam is given at the end of each class. After completing and passing the written exam. A certification card will be sent a few business days later. 

 

Class Options:

  • The Adult, Child, and Infant BLS Class

  • The Adult BLS Class

  • The Child and Infant CPR/ AED BLS Class

 

 

If you have completed the online BLS for Healthcare Providers class provided by the American Red Heart Association and only want to be tested on the skill set, we can do that for you. Please either bring a copy of your certificate that indicates successful completion of the BLS online course to class or email a copy of your certificate to metrowellnessinc@gmail.com.
